It is with much sadness that we say a final goodbye to our dear friend and Queen Mother, Sharon Peck.  None of us will ever forget Sharon's courage, and dignity during her battle with breast cancer!  Her positive attitude & sense of humor have been an inspiration to all of us.  Sharon will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her!
Following is a brief summary of the many, outstanding achievements Sharon accomplished during her lifetime.
  • In 1991, She helped establish The Learning Center, North Platte Public Schools' alternative high school.  In the 10 years she taught in the school, nearly 100 students received a second chance to graduate from high school.

  • She taught French and English classes in both middle and high school in Kearney, Hastings and North Platte Nebraska.
  • She was recognized in 2001 with the Women of Achievement Award, presented by the Community Improvement Committee of the North Platte Area Chamber of Commerce, in the field of education.
  • She was named to Who's Who Among American Teachers.

"About Sharon"

She taught us so much about living and dying...
About courage, patience, faith, hope, putting others first,
laughter and dignity, love, and FRIENDSHIP.
By allowing us to be a part of her life,
She touched our hearts forever.
